About me

My name is Alana and I'm originally from Australia, although my family is French :)

I am an experienced babysitter, and have over 4 years of professional and freelance work experience. I have worked in a daycare, where my job involved caring for over 20 3-4 year old children, and ensuring they were all safe and having a fun time :) I've also worked as a professional au-pair (babysitting and living with the family) for 3 children, where my role involved organising school drop-offs, pick-ups, meals, and keeping the children happy and occupied whilst their parents were at work. I have also done a lot of freelance babysitting, and have experience babysitting neurodivergent children and children who do not speak english (we always find a way to communicate!). I have experience babysitting children aged 1-15.

I love children and find that I get along with them super well! I love art, creativity and nature, and often take children to parks or adventure playgrounds nearby, or draw and paint with them. I believe in creating enriching spaces for children to explore and play safely.

I also have over 2 years of experience as a professional tutor. In school, I achieved very high marks, scoring in the top 1.2% of my cohort. I have tutored children ages 9-17, and focus on understanding more than anything. I am more than happy to implement some tutoring, whether it be for art, maths or english (or maybe something else!) into my babysitting sessions :).

I have experience with children who are neurodivergent - sometimes this meant they didn't adjust very well to change, or certain textures or words were very overstimulating to them. I've learned how to de-elevate these situations.
